SSBTi partners CJCHT Group and the A1 Smart Factory Alliance are joining forces in Hanoi to connect smart manufacturing, academic collaboration and supply-chain sustainability.
CJCHT Group, a founding member of SSBTi, is proud to serve as a co-organizer and sponsor of the Global Summit: AI and Data-Driven Manufacturing Forum & VIP Gala Dinner. The forum is hosted by Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the A1 Smart Factory Alliance, a key SSBTi partner.
The morning academic seminar and webinar at HUST Building C7 will explore “AI and Data-Driven Manufacturing: From Production Data to Predictive Intelligence.” A VIP Gala Dinner will follow that evening at Bao Son International Hotel, bringing together academic, manufacturing and supply-chain leaders.
Building the Data Foundation for Sustainable Manufacturing
Our sincere thanks go to Dr. Chen Song-Guang, President of the A1 Smart Factory Alliance, for the invitation and for his sustained commitment to industry–university cooperation in Vietnam.
Within this partnership, SSBTi supports A1 in strengthening the calculation methods and database capabilities required for life-cycle assessment (LCA), product carbon footprints and ESG management. The objective is not simply to add another reporting layer. It is to connect the operational data already generated by factories with the environmental information increasingly requested by customers, regulators and supply-chain partners.
From Academic Exchange to Industry Implementation
A1 has chosen a long-term path: building direct cooperation with Vietnam’s leading academic institutions. Following earlier university partnerships in Ho Chi Minh City, the alliance is now expanding its engagement to HUST, one of Vietnam’s leading technical universities.
Dr. Chen’s academic background and extensive experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) have earned strong recognition from the university. His participation as a lecturer and curriculum contributor also reflects the growing value of Taiwan’s smart-manufacturing experience within Vietnam’s industrial transformation.
Stable Data, Lasting ESG
Years of work in LCA, carbon footprints, Scope 3 and ESG have reinforced one important lesson: the quality of sustainability results depends on the stability of the underlying data layer.
When production and operational data are inconsistent, carbon calculations become slower, traceability becomes weaker, and every new customer or regulatory requirement creates another round of manual reconciliation. Smart-manufacturing ERP helps structure shop-floor and business data, while AI can help transform those records into more useful and timely insight.
This is the foundation that LCA and ESG need most. The goal is not to promote AI as an isolated tool. It is to ensure that each item of supply-chain environmental data has a source, a clear definition and an auditable trail—and that it can be updated as products, processes and standards evolve.
Turning Data-Driven Manufacturing into Data-Driven Sustainability
CJCHT Group, a key supporter of SSBTi’s data and methodology development, brings more than four decades of footwear-industry experience. It has long served Walmart and Target through a partner network spanning more than 100 factories.
This operating experience gives the collaboration a practical starting point: real production processes, real supplier data and real buyer requirements. By combining A1’s ERP and smart-factory capabilities, HUST’s academic strengths, CJCHT’s supply-chain experience and SSBTi’s LCA and ESG methodology, the partners can help manufacturers move from fragmented disclosure toward a more connected management system.
We see the Hanoi forum as a starting point for deeper collaboration with Vietnam’s academic and industrial communities—turning data-driven manufacturing into data-driven sustainability.

A1 持續走進越南主流學術體系，從胡志明市的大學合作拓展至河內頂尖理工學府 HUST；CJCHT 則以四十餘年的鞋業與國際供應鏈經驗，支持 SSBTi 的數據與方法學發展。結合 A1 的 ERP 與智慧工廠能力、HUST 的學術能量、CJCHT 的實務經驗，以及 SSBTi 的 LCA／ESG 方法學，我們期待把「數據驅動製造」真正落實為「數據驅動永續」。
