Supporting transparent, proportionate transition planning in the global footwear supply chain

SSBTi.org announces the public release of CJCHT Groups Limited’s Climate Transition Plan following an external professional technical review. The plan was approved on 30 October 2025 and became effective on 31 October 2025. The external review work commenced in 2025 and was completed before this 2026 publication.

Why SSBTi is publishing the plan

CJCHT is a privately held footwear design and supply-chain management company. It has developed its climate capability through more than a decade of CDP disclosure, customer programs, product LCA/LCIA, internal engineering and sourcing work, and supplier engagement. Publishing the plan demonstrates how a traditional supply-chain company can use disclosure as a learning and management process, building internal competence instead of relying only on an external consultant to produce a one-time report.

CJCHT is a founding member of SSBTi. SSBTi is publishing this notice in its role as a supply-chain knowledge and professional-review platform. External technical input was provided by Dr. Jun-Po Hung, Professor at Minghsin University of Science and Technology and a National Taiwan University PhD. The review is intended to provide an additional professional perspective for CJCHT’s management and stakeholders.

Scope of technical review

The review considered the plan’s governance and accountability; linkage to CJCHT’s SBTi-validated near-term target; organizational and value-chain boundaries; energy-efficiency and renewable-electricity measures; material efficiency, recycled content and lower-fossil-content alternatives; product LCA/LCIA; supplier engagement; and arrangements for monitoring, periodic review and public disclosure.

The review also considered whether the plan appropriately reflects CJCHT’s position as a footwear supply-chain company rather than a fossil-fuel producer, and whether its implementation commitments remain proportionate to available budgets, customer requirements, material performance and supplier capability.

Technical review conclusion

Based on the document and supporting information reviewed, SSBTi considers the CJCHT Climate Transition Plan suitable for public disclosure as a credible and proportionate management framework for CJCHT’s current size, business model and supply-chain role. The plan identifies practical transition levers within CJCHT’s influence, including energy efficiency, renewable electricity, circular and lower-impact materials, LCA-informed product design, supplier data improvement and customer collaboration.

SSBTi recommends that CJCHT maintain a stable public location for the plan, review progress at least annually, publish concise progress updates, and continue strengthening quantitative evidence for upstream supplier coverage, material transition, renewable-energy deployment and product-level environmental outcomes.

Important status clarification

This review is an external technical review and publication decision. It is not an audit, assurance engagement, certification, legal opinion, or validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SBTi validation applies to CJCHT’s near-term emissions target only. CJCHT remains responsible for the plan, its underlying data, implementation decisions and future progress reporting.
